Annie Friedman – Fashion and Styling Consultant

 

Born in France in 1960 in the Lorraine region close to the German border, she immigrated to Israel with her family in 1970 for ideological reasons.

Annie graduated with honors from the Fashion Design Program of Ort-D Vocational High School in Tel Aviv – a small, intimate high school where she learned the basic skills that prepared her for her long, distinguished career in styling and fashion.

Already then, as a teenager, she designed clothes to her friends and After completing her military service in the IDF in 1980, Annie started working for Gottex and, a few months later, she received an offer she could not refuse – a scholarship for an international fashion design program, granted on condition that she specialize in swimwear.
Her French origin played a key role in choosing the exclusive ESMOD School of Fashion in France.

In retrospect, it could be said that Annie owes her professional success to the fact that she worked her way up from the bottom rung of the ladder.

Anyone who knows or works with Annie knows that she takes no shortcuts; she studies and familiarizes herself with every aspect of the process until she knows it inside out.
Every detail and area is examined closely and optimized: cutting, sewing, packaging, pattern making, illustration, textile design, fashion design, product development, presentations and fashion shows, image and styling, quality assurance and control, brand design and management, studio management, and purchasing.

In the early 90s, Annie was one of the four founders of a swimwear company named Trulo.
Annie served as the Brand designer and among the clients for whom she designed swimwear was the Italian designer Valentino.

In 1993, Annie founded a swimwear company called Cannelle, under the brand name "Annie Friedman", together with her husband, who served as president of the company, and an American partner.
She served as Creative director of the company.

The swimwear she designed that bore her brand name was sold all around the world, in catalogs and in leading fashion retail chain stores such as Victoria's Secret, Quelle, Printemps, El Core Ingles, Spiegel, Madeleine, Alba Moda, Galleries Lafayette, and many others.

In the late 90s, with the opening of import possibilities from the East and the closing of many manufacturers in Israel, Annie realized that the time had come to make a change professionally.
After completing studies in purchasing and procurement management and 20 successful years in swimwear (with a short excursion into children's clothes and sportswear), Annie decided to move from manufacturing to retailing.

That is what brought her to Golf & Co., where she served as quality assurance and control manager for all the chain’s brands – a challenging position that required a high level of proficiency in and extensive knowledge of all aspects of the textile and fashion trade.

This move served as a springboard for further positions as buyer, consultant and designer for leading fashion chains.

In 2009, after almost 30 years of experience, familiarity with international markets gained from frequent trips abroad, negotiations, and studying people and codes of conduct in the business world, Annie began to work as a fashion and style consultant for fashion companies, organizations and institutions.

She became a sought-after lecturer and workshop facilitator in the area of image, style and business dress code, which is her main area of expertise these days.

A passion for her profession, a love of people and a desire to give of herself – these are the elements that motivate Annie and lead her on her path in life.
